Introducing...

A sleeping puppy. So tired that he fell asleep while he was eating.
But seriously, after a day of running helter skelter from one end of Linn Cty to the other, we finally got all the goals accomplished. One fourlegged creature is now residing 5 miles down the road in my brother's pasture--Bye Lardeo or rather, see ya later. Dad's buckskin paint mare who is 17 is now going to try to temp my niece to go horse crazy.

While the Ms has a new toy all her own! Please meet Rio aka Rio Grande Style. He's a 7 yr old registered sorrel overo paint gelding. Though you can't see it in the photo, his right eye is blue! I love glass eyes! He's a real doll and handling most of the transition well. Moo likes him as well as Phoenix but the big girls-being bullies. So he's spending some time in the stall to get acclimated as well as some time to doctor his feet. Yeah, he needs some TLC on his hooves but nothing we haven't dealt with before, just chipped a little too short so he's very tender.
A steal if I do say so myself! Can't wait to get him out to the shows in the spring. He's got some really great horses behind him and we might be fighting over who gets to ride him more!

The Dirty Dozen are now 8 weeks old and driving me nuts. Wormed, first shots and they have grown attitudes. In about 2 weeks, the start heading out to their homes. I can't wait for the quiet! I have found a couple great homes in MN for show puppies and the pets are heading to all corners of the US. Now to decide who we will keep!

dust mask please

I can't see ten feet in front of me tonight. Dust is so bad as they take out the corn in the field next door that we had to close all the windows and bring the dogs all in early. There goes my sinus infection.

Other then that, awesome weekend around here. We had visitors from the south-the leader of the Trio of Trouble, Lani and her son as well as Chris and her daughter from further south. Played with puppies and talked cardigans for hours. Thanks gals for coming up!

Another group arrived in the afternoon to talk cardigans and seems Ms Beverly and one of the boys will be heading out to IN in the near future.

New photos are up on the website and I'm so screwed. I honestly have no idea what to do. Each of the boys has something that draws me in. Okay, now 12 is not such a great number.

And last but not least, we meet up with our great friend, Dr Joe. He's so cool. Anyway, stay tuned as we welcome a new addition to the four legged family next weekend. Can't wait!

What we do on weekends.....

nothing.

Actually David is dealing with a little jet lag from his recent work trip and well, we just can't get motivated to do much of anything constructive. That includes cooking, which means it's a treat tonight with take out!

Now we did load up this morning and hit a few events like the World's Largest Garage Sale. We each found a deal. Then over to the Lord's Acre Sale and again, goodies galore. Dog food run and then to the Village aka Czech Village for some awesome kolaches and zelingys. mmmmmm

But the rest of the day, well, here's a few photos to document why we didn't get anything done.

Oh the new neighbors moved in...
I couldn't help myself - what a shot!
Think Drew has a future in modeling?
And of course, Auntie Pete. Who just LOVES to play with the babies. She's teaching them some new skills, but first she has to whisper in his ear what the plan is.
Then it's all about the stalk....
Keep the butt high, front low.....
Come at them from both sides...
And attack!

Brrrr

Okay, who decided to turn down the thermostat so soon? I'm a cold blooded person, as in I prefer it hot, dry and not having to dress in layers. Though the horses and dogs are okay with it, already having put a few extra pounds and hair on.

I finally got a moment for updates on the Dirty Dozen. They are eating semi hard food, mostly litter trained, loving the crates and boxes to play in. Auntie Shooter is so much fun as is Cousin Merlot. 12 is just a few too many for Eddie this time around. Max is opting out for the games these guys play. And I heard that this afternoon, they figured out the chase around the couch game and attack feet from under the couch game. I'm hoping this weekend to send them outside for some fresh air.

Check out the website for their 5 week photos: http://www.foggybottomusa.com/website1_112.htm

I will be the first to admit, they aren't great photos-they are on the move big time. Something about thinking it's now a right to be loose, romping around the house and chewing on everything, especially Alec's toes. We've made a few decisions on who's going to hang out a little longer for evaluations. Yeah, got it down to 6. Each has their own qualities so it's hard to figure out what we really want or which pup has the most. Luna for sure, seems to catch everyone's eye, so she's for sure hanging out. Alec and I are discussing Drew, Charlie, James, Connor and Adolph. Tiny aka Quill, Thunder aka Percy, Ziggy aka Ruffles Jr, Bev and Einstein are available to pet homes. Junior is headed down to TN to live with Trish, her family and his Uncle Chopper.

Let's see---oh, the big news!! NOT ONE FLUFF!!!! That gives pretty darn good odds that Russ is a non carrier for the fluff gene, having been bred to two known fluff carriers. We'll do the dna just to be sure later down the road, but it also makes it so nice to not have to pet out a nice pup just because of it's coat.

And last but not least, my computer is having issues, time to clean it out and upload stuff to the new external hard drive and set up the new computer. Registry errors on a lot of blogs I love to read and posting is hell to blogger right now. So if the posts are few and far between for a few weeks, thats why.

Now for a cute puppy photo for the week--this is Thunder soon to be Percy(seriously Thunder was not working for him and well, he's really the ugly duckling of the group) and his new passion--freestyle reining. I had 5 puppies sit still for like 2 mins watching this yesterday. Too cute not to post.
